It's still a coke and poke
Food is great. Cliental still sucks
One of the Best Places to Go in Knoxville where I feel First Class Every Time!!
Purada is My new Favorite Hang out Spot. They have definitely changed my point of view from what they used to be as far as Michael's. I used to avoid going there just for what it was and what I thought it would continue to be. But I didn't want to go by other peoples pointless rumors and check it out for myself! To my surprise it was completely different from what it used to be!! The inside has changed so much from what it used to look like!! It's so innovative and fresh! The V.I.P. area is structured so well, gives my friends and I a place to really just kick back and be in a fun environment, they even provide us with our own personal Server! Everyone that works there is attractive. I really enjoy myself every time I party at Purada. They really make me feel valued every time I walk into the place. I would recommend this Club to anyone that wanted to have a good time in a fresh Club. I LOVE IT!
Goodbye Micheal's hello Purada
Went to Purada's for the first time the other day and I have to say that I was really impressed with the new business. The staff was friendly and the food was good... hats off to the new owners.
Purada
You have to try it. You may think it's still Michael's at the bar, but the Fish Bowl restaurant is great. The sushi rolls are large and beautiful. The food is fresh. I can't say enough. We went on Fri. about 6:30 to eat and had the restaurant to ourselves. The restaurant is separate from the bar and is non-smoking although the bar is smoking. The menu is excellent, and if you're a sushi lover, you have to go.
That should be 5 stars
Fri. night isn't so bad. There are alot of old regulars at the bar till about 9 or 10 then the younger "loud" crowd comes in. Eat listen to the band and enjoy.

Any restaurant that has " great" food deserves better than a 1 star. Knoxville is flooded with chain restaurants, producing and serving food they don't care about. Try Purada on a Sunday when they serve traditional Pho and you will see great food served by people who care.
Good eats
I'm not to big on sushi so I tried the regular menu and it was really great! I had a prime rib sandwich and it was a big portion at a good price. My meal was perfect cause they rounded it out with good service and a stiff drink!
purada
Purada would be a great place for a nice club! The new owner took over and remodeled; now there are not enough tables, the dance floor is smaller, the d.j.'s are bad. Eric B.? Who wants to watch video's all night? If I wanted to watch video's, I'd stay at home. The ghetto comes in at 12:00 and proceeds to take over; standing around trying to steal your table while you are dancing, and yes even drinking your drinks if you leave one to go dance. If you watch for any length of time, the people aren't drinking, they have spent their money getting in the door. The rules change every week-end regarding the dress code and who can and can't get in the door. The only thing consistent about the place is the inconsistency. The air conditioning is not sufficient, within 45 minutes of being in there, you are sweating whether you are dancing or not. The restrooms smell like a raw sewer and you couldn't get soap and a paper towel if you bribed one of the waitresses. The security, if thats what you can call it stands around and doesn't keep the isles clear or the riff-raff out. I'm not real sure how the club is even still in business. We all know where the money came from to start it up; but even the deepest pockets eventually run empty. Waiting for the day she runs out of money or a better club opens up! You want see me there again. The place sucks!
Purada's or Purshita's
The club sucks! The music is gangster and the clientele is too! Need a new place to go!
Purada could use a few upgrades
Ok I have to write this review for me and to respond to some of the comments people have made. 1 I believe the club is OK, it's kinda small for my taste but I go there from time to time to hang out on the weekends. 2 I think the sushi is really good and I enjoy it every time I make it in. I highly recommend it to anyone who loves sushi. 3 The restrooms are disgusting and I agree they could use some tending too. The management doesn't seem to care about dress code and I kinda have a problem with that. I see a lot of scrubs in the club and they could really use a dress code if there going to claim there an upscale night club. 4 The bouncers do stand around and forget to do there job at times. I've witnessed a few fights that could have been stopped had the bouncers paid more attention to there job. 5 The vip area sucks because they let anyone and whoever come in and it's suppose to be a VIP area not a place for just anyone. They could improve on that. 6 My Biggest gripe has to be with whoever is in charge of the DJ's How come DJ Eric B doesn't play all night? He is the best DJ in this city hands down and one of the main reason I go to Purada! I mean, he has two mix shows on one of the best radio stations in this city and I think his videos are awesome.(NO other DJ in Knoxville is mixing videos) I feel like I'm listening to a DJ from Vegas or LA when I hear him play. Purada is lucky to have a DJ of his caliber but yet they bring in all these wacky Hip-Hop DJ's who can't beat mix and all they play is rap music. To answer the person above about watching videos in the club. All the big city night clubs play videos.(you should get out of this city for a change and see for yourself) I travel a lot and it's everywhere. You really don't see videos on T.V anymore and it adds extra entertainment to the venue. There's always people who don't want dance and for that, the videos come in handy for there entertainment as well. So I give the videos an A+ and tell the person above to do some homework. 7 The bar staff has always treated me great and they usually pour great drinks. 8 Parking sucks big time. If you don't arrive early sometimes you have to park far away and that's not real cool. 9 If you wanna have a great time arrive early and avoid the thugs that come out at 12 and you will find a good parking spot. Out of all the night clubs in Knoxville I would put Purada in the top 3 or 4 clubs in the city.
Good Time
Okay, after hearing several negative reviews about Purada I must admit an uneasiness about going. Three weeks ago I decided to give it a shot with some friends and was pleasantly surprised. I have actually returned for the past two Saturdays and plan on going again this week. Somethings I would like to address after reading other posts on Purada are these. First the food so far has been great, I tried the sushi one night and the hamburger another. The music has been good to dance too until around midnight, then it gets a little rough. It is a large bar inside, but again after twelve it gets a bit cramped. As for the dress code, seems they are enforcing it pretty good on the nights I have been, most everybody is dressed nice. As the bathrooms go they actually had an attendant in the restroom, which was nice. The crowd seems a good mix, but after midnight it does change somewhat. The staff I have encountered have been attentive and friendly. Also the drinks seem generous on the alcohol. The security seem mature and plentiful, security shirts everywhere. I felt safe in the club and the security seemed to react when needed. Actually the older security guy at the door seemed to deter and calm down a couple situations I saw inside the club. So I would say the new owners have listened to someone and are trying to put a premier nightclub together in Knoxville, which is long overdue. So all in all it is become my new fav hangout. Friendly staff, good tunes, great food and safe environment...kudos Purada!
bad experience
short and simple...THIS PLACE NEEDS TO SHUT DOWN! in the past few weeks there have been numerous people, hear say and personal experience obviously, that have been complaining about the fighting and unnecessary behavior. I was there recently and witnessed a member of security antagonizing someone. Using foul language and verbally assaulting him which resulted in a physical altercation between the guy and the security guard. First off, why is there a need to be aggressive with people and you're simply a security guard? It's kind of like the police, some feel that just because they have that uniform on they can continuously harass people and belittle them to an unnecessary extent. Long story short, police weren't even called when the altercation was taken outside. Security went way overboard trying to overpower this guy after he was out of the building(in which I thought was the whole point of security's job is to remove physical fights out the door away from the establishment-KICK THEM OUT AND ALLOW THEM TO LEAVE! Don't keep trying to beat up on someone and his friends are trying to take him off of the premises. Way uncalled for! And to top it off, the whole security line up were banging on the windows laughing at the whole ordeal afterwards! Yea,that's a sure way how to run your club and be professional about it. But hey, it's Knoxville, what more can you expect when you hire undercover thugs who push that SECURITY shirt to the limit....it's such a shame and every one of those guys should be fired. As a matter of fact, the place should close down because management isn't doing a good job of training their dogs!
